5 Foodie Friday

I've been enjoying a few tasty things lately and needed to share with you.  Maybe you'll like something you see here and try it for yourself!

Perky Jerky
This tasty jerky is addicting.  Thankfully I received small samples, or I wouldn't be able to stop eating it!  I received the Original in beef and Sweet and Spicy in turkey to sample.  I loved both.

Made from only natural ingredients, this jerky in turkey and beef, is quite tasty.  No nitrates.  No preservatives.  No added MSG.  And a great protein source!  Perky Jerky makes a great snack without adding a ton of calories and other bad things.

Salads
Summer and salads just go hand in hand.  I've been loving my daily salads for lunch.  They are so much more appetizing when I get to sit out on my deck.

Quinoa Tabbouleh
I followed this recipe here.

Goat Cheese and Steak Salad
We had steak on the grill over the weekend and had some left over.  I love adding steak to my salad for an added punch of taste and protein.  I also had a jar of hot banana peppers. Combing these two items over my greens with some goat cheese and balsamic dressing really hit the spot.  I hope you like it!

PocketFuel Naturals
A new favorite training fuel is PocketFuel.  I love peanut butter and this stuff has the consistency of it.  But tastes even better.  I love that it's ma real foods.  It doesn't upset my stomach at all either.

Actually, I was given a couple of these to review, thanks to Amy at the Rail Trail Run Shop!  I used the 1.8 oz Chocolate Haze, which tastes like nutella, but better.  What I loved about this packet was the screw top - which allowed me to take in some fuel and put the cap back on so I didn't have a squishy mess in my pocket.  The 1.8 oz packet has 2 servings in it, with 170 calories per serving.  Stacy and I shared a packet on one of our training runs and it was plenty of fuel to get us through 15 miles.

I had the Chia Goji and Honey packet sitting on the counter.  When I came home from work the next day, the it was gone was gone.  I checked my fuel stash in the panty and it wasn't there either.  So I asked Ward if he saw it.  He said "I ate it".  I asked if he ate it while he was running and he said "no, it looked good, so I just ate it.  It was tasty."  Ugh.  Men.  Nothing is safe in this house!  But the good news is that it's tasty enough to just eat...even if you aren't going to a run.  Now, I cannot say I'd grab some of my other fuel choices as a snack.  But Pocket Fuel.  Yes.  I would.

I was just checking out their site again for the flavors they offer:  Banana Blueberry, Coconut Cherry, Chia Goji and Honey, Chocolate Haze, Pineapple Coconut and Vanilla Haze.  Every single one of these flavors sound delicious.  Now to get them at the Rail Trail Run Shop!  What I really like about PocketFuel Naturals is that they have a few sizes to choose from - single serving packets, 1.8 oz with a twist cap, or a 20z refueler pack so you can refill your flask with what how much you want when you want it.  Talk about reducing waste!

Frosty's
Frosty's makes the best donuts ever.  I actually steer clear of donuts 99% of the time.  But have a hard time saying no to Frosty's Donuts.  Last weekend, Frosty's had a grand opening in downtown Gardiner.  I'm excited by this but know I will need to limit my trips there.  I took the kids to the grand opening so we could experience the first day excitement.

And then took tons of pics and sent them to Ward, since he loves Frosty's and couldn't be there.  We are cruel.

Chocolate Tea
Oh yes.  It's a thing.  And it's delicious.  A few weeks back I reviewed Numi's Spinach Chive tea which was part of a Bestowed Box review.  Sadly it wasn't my favorite.  However, I was sent a generous sampling of Numi Organic Teas and I've loved all of them!

Numi is named after the Middle Eastern dried lime teasan that the founders drank as children in Iraq. Numi has a very distinct, tart citrus flavor and is an oasis of health.

The PU-ERH Collection has 6 unique flavors: Chocolate, Emperor's, Jasmine, Basil Mint, Cardamon, and Ginger. Some of them are labeled with higher caffeine.   I flew through these with no problem.  Each flavor had a new twist and was just as yummy as the one I had before.  I've even made an iced tea with these - the Emperor's Pu-erh and it was very different than any other iced tea I've had before.

The Indulgent Collection is blended with real cacao and has many delicious chocolate flavors: Chocolate Earl Grey, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Rooibos, and Chocolate Spice.  Each and every single one of these had a great chocolatety, sweet taste that felt like you were sipping an exquisite treat.  Quite delicious.

I also received the the Numi Organic Collection box which included many Green Tea (Gunpowder Green, Jasmine Green, Toasted Rice, Mate-Lemon, Decaf Simply Green; Black Tea (aged earl great, breakfast blend, decaf earl grey, golden chai; Pu-Erh Tea (chocolate  pu-erh, emperor's pu-erh, cardamon pu-erh); White Tea (white rose); and Herbal Teasan (chamomile, lemon, roobios, moraccan mint, rooibos chai and honey bush).

As you can tell, I was sent so many samples and I wasn't disappointed in a single one.  All of them a very high quality and superior taste.  A brand I have already gone ahead and purchased more of.

What have you been enjoying eating or drinking lately?  Share!

Three Things Thursday

So far, I cannot complain about summer.  We've had absolutely GORGEOUS days and we've had some rainy days.  Just when I was looking at my garden and thinking "darn...I better get the hose over here and start waterings..." then we get a couple days of rain.  Perfect.  Just as long as the rain leaves this weekend!

I've got 3 things to share with you today!!!

ONE.  Gone For A Run.  Have you checked them out yet?  This store is pretty amazing.  They have anything from headbands, arm sleeves, recovery sandals, shirts, mugs.  I could go on and on all day about what they have.  I'm one of their lucky ambassadors and I've been pleased with every single item that has come my way.  I haven't shared with you my love for this beer mug.

It's a very high quality beer mug.  I've only actually put beer in it a few times.  I'm not one to take tons of pictures of alcoholic beverages and post them all over the internet anyway.  I'm a hs teacher and need to always remember that!   But what I've found is that this mug is perfect for any beverage I want to drink....water, tea, coffee, juice, you name it!

And the etching on the front hasn't come off at all!  I've put this mug through the dishwasher countless times and it's still there.  Sadly, the dishwasher has destroyed many things that were supposedly dishwasher safe...but this mug is definitely dishwasher safe.

TWO.  I passed my breathing test.  Phew.  I had a 3 month follow up with my asthma and allergy doc and I passed.  Thank goodness.  So now I'm off that awful steroid inhaler and only have it for back up when I get a cold.  I've put on some weight due to the inhaler and I'm quite pumped to not have to take it consistently anymore.  Now I'm onto Singular and hoping it is the one for me.  Especially, since my insurance covers it 100%.   Now that I am paying attention to my asthma and allergies again....whoops!  I'm noticing my breathing when I run is far better...and I haven't had any exercise induced anaphylaxis episodes either.  However, I am taking allergy meds daily now to combat all of my seasonal allergies.  Which is making a difference, I'm sure.

THREE. I am loving the summer track program I've started.  I am quite lucky to have 5 incredible volunteers.  Without them, I'd be completely overwhelmed.  Right now I'm only partially overwhelmed.  Lots of new information and process.  But I'm getting it!!!

Plus, I still take selfies of myself at track practice....  and that's always fun.

disclaimer.  I received the beer mug above for review purposes from Gone For A Run.  I was not required to give a positive review.  As always, all opinions expressed on my blog are 100% my own.

Workout Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!  I'm following along with fellow blogger, Amy and bringing you ...

MARATHON TRAINING
This week officially kicks off marathon training.  I'm starting off with a 16 mile long run base, which puts me in a pretty good place.  My training this time around is going to consist of yoga, plyos, cycling and TONS of running.

I'm MUCH better at training in the summer for a fall marathon because I actually have the time.  Although, it is a little tricky with the kids home too, but there are no excuses.  I get it done!

I'm also reviewing this set of books from Runners World.  This is perfect for me.  I'm in love with the Essential Road Bike Maintenance Handbook.  I need to learn about how to take care of my bike...this book rocks!  More to come!

I would really love to bike my butt off.  Let's see if that happens!

THE HALF that didn't happen.
Sunday was the KRRT Half Marathon.  Sadly, I was recovering from bronchitis and still wasn't 100%, so I ditched the half.  I'm finally learning to not push it when I'm sick.  I had made up my mind I would just go to the race and support fellow racers and friends with water, ice, and sponges - as it was going to be a scorcher of a half.  BUT, then I had a brainstorm I would do the 5k and then head out along the course with supports for my pals.

The half marathon started at 7:30 and the 5k started at 7:45.  I hung out with Jill, Carrie, Andy, Jamie before the race.  I was able to get a few race photos at the starting line.  Part of me was incredibly sad to see them run off without me.  I was training for this!  But another part of me was so happy to not be doing it as it was going to be one of those hot races again!  I ran back to the starting line, made a pitstop at the porta pottie and chatted with Harold.  Soon enough the race began.  Going into this I had no idea if this was going to be a speed workout or a fun run.  I had done a pretty hard leg workout on Friday and my legs were still toast!  As we headed over the bridge and toward downtown Augusta, I was feeling okay.  Not my fastest, but pretty good.  There were a couple of women ahead of me, which was okay.  I was just getting over bronchitis!

Then those ladies started slowing down or I was speeding up.  Who knows!  All I know that I passed them and was feeling pretty good.  So, for a brief moment, I was the first woman.  Then this little girl came flying by me and kept going.  Super fast.  Like lightening.  There was absolutely NO WAY I was going to catch her.  As we reached the turn around, I noticed there were no other women near me.  Hmmm....... I thought.  I've got this!  I'm not coming in first, but I've definitely secured 2nd woman.  At this point, I decided it was completely okay to slow down.  Not too much, but to a more comfortable pace...as I didn't see any women near me.  I held my place and came into the finish line at 23:23. Not a PR (like 2 minute slower) but a win!

After the surprising win, I got in the car and headed out to the half marathon course with my supports - ice, sponges and little water bottles!

Being a local race, I knew so many people running this event!  I had a blast cheering people on, offering ice, sponges, water.  So much fun!!!

SPANDITS!
I'm pleased to announce that I'm going to continue to be a Spandits Ambassador!  As you know, I'm a huge Spandits fan.  I only want to wear things that match my Spandits.  Joining me on the team are some really awesome people - namely one of my favorite running girls - Carrie.

Too bad she wasn't a Spandits Ambassador then. Actually all of the Rail Trail Chicks look fab in Spandits!

Another fab blogger joining Team Spandits is Smitha!  I'm looking forward to following her adventures in her new Spandits!

I'm also adding another race to my schedule this summer - Spandits is holding a 5k in Farmington, ME on 7/26!  I'm looking forward to this one and I hope my Maine friends can make it!  If it's hot - I know a great cottage a few miles away and we can jump in the pond afterwards!

SOCKS
I've found my favorite running shoes.  Skechers make my feet happy.  But they need a perfect mate - socks.  And I've found the best socks for my feet - Stable 26.  Oh yay!  Happy feet!

These socks are thin and stretchy.  They do not bunch up anywhere on my feet.  And they have these little pads on the sides that fill any gaps in shoes so your feet feel like they are one with the shoe.

They actually make socks for many other sports - hockey, golf, skiing.  In my opinion, it's super annoying to have your shoes loose on your feet.  It completely throws you off and can make for a miserable run.

Because these socks are adding stability - there is no chance of weird rubbing.  Your socks are in place and your shoes are in place!  No blisters!  Oh hallelujah.  Finally!

I am confident my feet will continue to be happy with these socks through marathon training.  They are going to hold up to that high mileage all summer long and through the fall.  They will keep my feet happy through the final miles of the Maine Marathon.  Speaking of which, I better register soon... 101 more days until marathon #4.

disclaimer:  I was sent Stable 26 socks for the purpose of a review.  I was not required to love them or post positive things.  It just so happens that these funky looking socks are amazing.

What's in the June POPSUGAR Must Have Box?

I never get tired of summer.  Ever.  I'm a teacher.  Can't you tell?  I do love teaching, but summer helps me recharge those batteries and gives me extra time with my own kiddos.  An added benefit to being a teacher mom.

As a POPSUGAR blogger, I had the opportunity to review the June POPSUGAR Must Have Box.  I really wasn't sure what to expect in this box.  I tend to get runners boxes, so to get a box that didn't have running fuel and gear in it felt a little more exciting.

What was in my box?

You Smell Wet Wipes.

Lemony, fresh smell.  I loved it.  So much.

Turkish-T Beach Towel.

I've never had a beach towel that looked so grown up and versatile.  When Ward saw it, he immediately said "oh a scarf!"  And sure enough - this towel can act as a scarf as well.  But, it's June and it's 80 degrees out there, so I'm not wearing it as a scarf.  Instead, you'll see me lounging on this beauty of a towel at the beach while reading my new favorite summer book.  Or I'll wrap it around my waist.

Emily Giffin's The One and Only.

I'm not a huge reader.  I know.  I'm a teacher.  Don't teachers like to read.  Nah.  I prefer math.  I'm a math teacher!  I probably should read more and be a better role model for my kids.  I've read Emily Giffin books before and was in love with her style of writing.  This book was the perfect book to be sent to me because I will actually read it and love it.

SACHAJUAN Body Lotion, Shiny Citrus.

I put this lotion on and was immediately sold on it.  The fragrance isn't overpowering and crazy flowery.  It has a lemon/jasmine smell that is to die for.  Ward's a huge fan of it.  And it goes on nice and silky.  No sticky residue.

One Potato, Two Potato Hawaiian BBQ Chips.

Did someone say chips?  Chips are not safe in my house when I'm around.  Thankfully they sent me a small bag, so when I inhaled them, I didn't feel like I ate 2000 calories.  They were easy to eat up because they had a nice sweet flavor to them with the salty goodness found in chips.  Delicious!

Lollies Hair Ties.

Finally my hair is getting long enough for a ponytail, so I can sport these cute hair ties.  And when I'm not wearing them in my hair, they are on my wrist and actually look cute!

Are you curious about the cost?  I know.  It really comes down to how much does this box cost?  A subscription is $39.95/month (but if you use my discount code below on a 3-month subscription, your cost will be lowered to $33.29/month!)

But still, is it worth it?  Just check out the retail values of what was in my box!!!

You Smell wet wipes.............................. $5
Turkish-T Beach Towel.... ....................$45
The One and Only by Emily Giffin ..... $28
One Potato, Two Potato Chips ...............$1
Lollies Hair Ties  (for a 3 pack) .............$8
SACHAJUAN Body Lotion ................$24

Total Retail Value .............................. $111

What a deal!

and that's not even mentioning the $15 voucher to Native Union.  I honestly didn't really like what they had on their site, so I will more than likely pass it on to someone who can use it.

If you'd like to get a POPSUGAR Must Have subscription, you can get a $10 discount off a 3-month subscription by entering JUNESELECT10.  But hurry!  The code expires 6/30/14.

Celebrate Summer with Sweet, Lemony Iced Tea (+ Pure Via Giveaway!)

Oh I love summer!  I also love ice tea.  When I was growing up in Pennsylvania, I was addicted to a certain sweet ice tea.  That sweet memory of sweet, lemony iced tea is with me.

I never knew that June is National Iced Tea Month!  Did you?  To celebrate, I've been sipping away at a Sweet Lemony Iced Tea.  It has to be sweet.  I love sweet tea.  I just don't like the calories with the sugar.  But with Pure Via, a zero calorie Stevia sweetener, I get the sweetness without the calories!

Lemony Sweet Tea
- 1 Tbs of unsweetened iced tea mix
- 8 oz of cold water
- handful of iced cubes
- a squirt of two of Pure Via
- 1/2 of a juiced lemon

Combine all of the ingredients above in a glass of your choice.  Either stir or shake - again, you choose.  Then sit back and sip your tea, preferably on a deck in the sun.

*And if you want a sweeter tea, just add a little more no guilt Pure Via!*

I've read so much about stevia, but never tried it before.   I'm happy I did, because now I have a new and improved way to sweeten my tea and coffee.

I do have a sweet tooth, and love sweets.  I also really enjoy sweet coffee in the morning.  I was able to sweeten my coffee with a hint of vanilla with the Pure Via Vanilla drops.  This taste was sweet and smooth.  A perfect way to start off my day.

My Pure Via Summer kit also came with a box of Pure Via non-GMO packets.  They are so sweet and are an incredibly fine powder.  I cut the number of packets in half with them in my coffee and still had a sweet morning drink!  Very cool it's non-GMO too!

How awesome would it be if one of my fabulous readers to win their own Pure Via Summer Kit?  That's right!  I have a giveaway for you!

In your kit, you'll get everything pictured below.

1 box of Pure Via non-GMO packets, 1 bottle of Pure Via stevia liquid, 1 bottle of Pure Via vanilla stevia liquid
1 container of unsweetened instant iced tea, 1 Pure Via mason jar w/ straw,
1 Pure Via pedometer, and 1 Pure Via SPF 15 lip balm
To enter my giveaway, please enter below through Rafflecopter.  Giveaway only for US residents.  The giveaway will end on June 27th.  I will contact my winner through email.

Kids Come First! BOKS Active Kids Day

disclosure:  The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Reebok.

Last weekend the kids and I made a trip to Massachusetts.  Our first stop was at Ward's aunt and uncles house, where we had the chance to hang out with some family.  We don't see them enough and anytime we get to see them is always a bonus!

silly face poses are always more fun!

Then we headed off to Reebok HQ for a fun filled day for the BOKS Kids Active Kids Day.   This was actually the 3rd Annual Active Kids Day event.  It was designed to bring together communities, schools, and families to get active.   And the entire event was free.

BOKS Kids (Build Our Kids Success) is a before-school program developed by a group of moms to provide elementary school children opportunities for physical activity.  It gives kids the chance jump start their brains to better equip them for a day of learning.  As a teacher, I've read many studies supporting the need for more physical activity for children as it has a very high impact on student performance in behavior in the school setting.  Our kids need to move more!    I love the mission of this program "To promote the profound impact of physical activity on a child's mind, body, and community."

To learn more about BOKS Kids, check them out at BOKSkids.org, on Facebook, on twitter, or email them.  If you are a mom or dad with young kids and your job will allow you the time to do this, it would a beneficial program for your own kids and so many more kids in your community!

As part of our invitation to attend the Active Kids Day through FitFluential, my family was outfitted in Z Quicks.  Poor Ward had to work, so he missed out on great shoes.  But the three of us are quite happy with our new shoes!  Tucker and Izzy both received the Z Quick and I received the Z Quick Electrify, due to be released on 7/1/14.

I was impressed from our stop at the registration tent.  We had preregistered online a few days prior to the event and the check in was incredibly quick and efficient.  Each of my kids received a bracelet with my cell # written on the band.  I received two bracelets that had numbers that matched my kids bands. I thought that was a rather nice touch and made me a little less nervous.    They also received some fun shirts to wear!

Our first stop was to the Boston Bruins section.  Tucker played some street hockey, while Izzy tossed some bean bags.  Then we posed by the Bruins truck, Tucker hung out with the Ice Girls and Izzy and I met Blades.  We made a few friends back home jealous and now the kids want to go to a Bruins game.  I guess we'll have to get that added to the bucket list!

Next up was a visit to the basketball court to watch Lucky from the Celtics perform.  We all thought this was really cool!

We made a pit stop at the Stoneybrook Yogurt van and sampled some blueberry yogurt and headed off to check out the field events.

And then the bounce houses.

By this time, it was time for some stretches and the 1 mile fun run.   The fun run went by ages 5/6 at one time....and then about 30 minutes later was Tucker's age group.  I didn't have another adult with me and didn't feel comfortable letting Izzy go off for a mile...actually, I knew she wouldn't.  She wouldn't have made it 10 feet without me.  I also didn't feel comfortable leaving Tucker anywhere alone for the amount of time it would take Izzy to complete a mile.  So, I made Tucker run with us.   Ooops!  Wrong age group.  I apologize BOKS Kids!  I know it was for fun and there weren't age group winners so I thought it would be okay.

Izzy's little legs were tired!  Near the end she was pooped out.  So I gave her a piggyback ride and had to take a selfie.  I wish someone would give me a piggyback ride in a marathon!

After the fun run, the kids were pumped up and had to do the Spartan course.  In order to get their Spartan bracelet and sticker, they had to do 10 burpees.  No sweat for my kids.

And then some live music.

After the live music, we met Aly Raisman, and Olympic Gold Medal Winning Gymnast!

In the midst of all this fun, I had the chance to meet up with some New England FitFluential Bloggers!

I knew she was FitFluential when I saw her.  I hung out with Jennifer from Savor The Thyme for a while while our kids hung out. I love that we were wearing the same outfits!  Reebok was quite generous and sent the moms a full head to toe outfit to wear with our Z Quick Electrify shoes.   The skinny capris are quite mom friendly with the wide waistband (no muffin top!) and they have a great pocket in the waistband!  I'm a big fan of pockets.  I always need a place to stash my keys, gum, or fuel!

The two different woman colors sent to the FitFluential Ambassadors at BOKS Active Kids Day.  I get nervous wearing new shoes all day long not knowing how they would feel, but these shoes were super light and airy in the uppers.  The toe box was roomy enough my wide feet were happy as well.  Mark your calendars for the Z Quick Electrify release on 7/1/14!  You'll want to check these out!

After we chatted, we met up with the rest of the FitFluential crew that was out and about at the BOKS Active Kids Day.  Sadly, we took this picture before Ru joined us.

My family, Kimberly's family, Joanna's family and Jennifer's family showing off our Reebok outfits,
Z Quicks, and medals!

And of course, we needed a photo of our Z Quicks!  Check out the colors and happy feet!
The kids thought this day was the best day ever.  We started off with visiting family, then spent an entire day (well 11-3) at a kid oriented event that focused on healthy lifestyles and activities and had some pretty awesome music as well.  They were all smiles most of the day and when they weren't smiling, it was just pure exhaustion.  A good kind of tired.

I've been dragging my kids to all of these mommy events/races, it felt great to take them to an event just for them!

And one more thing - as we were leaving the  BOKS event, we were stopped by a super nice lady asking if we were leaving.  I said yes and she asked to check our bracelets.  She checked the numbers from my bracelets and made sure they matched my kids bracelets.  That part absolutely rocked!  I love it when others take my kids safety in account like that.

Have you ever attended an event like this?
This was my first experience at one and I want to get my kids to more!
I'll be on the lookout for next year's event!

Friday 5

Hello rainy Friday!   I don't mind rain so much, mostly because it will water my garden.

Summer Track

We are 2 weeks into my summer track program and it's been a ton of fun!  The middle school and high school coaches (which are husband and wife) have also offered to volunteer.

two years ago....this year she gets to run on the track!

I'm also quite grateful to have my sister-in-law helping out as well.  The kids are having a blast and I'm having fun with our practices.   Our first meet is June 26th - and it's going to be a lot of fun!

again - 2 years ago.  I cannot wait to see how he does this summer!

BOKS Active Kids Day

Tomorrow the kids and I are participating in the BOKS Active Kids Day event in Canton, MA.   We're quite excited to take a trip to Massachusetts because we are combining this trip with a visit with family as well.  The kids are equally as pumped to spend some time with Aunt Judy and Uncle Pete!

last time I saw Aunt Judy - we did a taste test.
Too bad I don't have any taste tests I need to do!  That was fun!

Marathon Training

I'm doing it.  Taking the plunge and going for marathon #4.  I've chosen Maine Marathon...which was marathon #1 for me.   I'm pairing up with my friend Amy for training this summer and going for that PR.  I do much better with marathon training in the summer because I have more time - hello teacher schedule!

lets hope the smile continues all summer long,
especially when I hit those 20/22 mile progressive runs!

I've been sick all week so I've really taken a step back in terms of running.  With the Rail Trail Half coming up, I'd rather be healthy and not overdo it.  I'll kick up the marathon training after the half and give it my all.

Teaching

With the school year winding down, I am making a change in my teaching career.  For the past 14 years I've taught Special Education grades K -12.   While I've enjoyed teaching Special Education, I have not enjoyed the paperwork.  It's beyond ridiculous.  When the opportunity opened to apply for a regular education Math Teacher position at the same school, I had too.  And while it's not 100% official yet, if all goes as planned, it appears as though I'll be able to make the change over to teaching High School Math!   Now to just pack up my things and move (again) upstairs.

Running Shoes

Have you ever put your feet into shoes and thought "oh my word, I love you".  Yeah.  I have that thought a lot lately.  Especially when I run in the Skechers Ultras and the Go Run 3's.  It is like these shoes are made for my feet.  No longer do I have to wear men's shoes for racing shoes.  These shoes fit my bunion feet and they feel incredible.

Bringing Your Workouts Outdoors

Hooray for summer!  Although the official 1st day of summer doesn't arrive until next week, the temperatures are up there and school is just about over!

More than ever I want to be outside working out.
Running.  Biking.  Strength Training.  Stretching.  Resting.

In honor of June 21st - I created my
21 Workout.

One of my main goals is to strengthen my legs and core.  And I don't have to be inside for this.  I can be outside - just about anywhere - doing this.  What's even better is I have a rock wall that is just about the height of a box.  So I have an outdoor box jumping station too.

Do you bring your workouts outside more often as the weather improves?

WIAW

My meal theme lately has been pizza, burgers, and chips.  All of my favorites and foods I can eat all of the time and be perfectly happy with.  My family would be happy too....for a little bit.  And then they'll get bored.

Honestly, most weeks, I lack the energy to come up with a meal plan for the week.  But if I don't plan, I'm visiting the grocery store daily or eating out.   But with eMeals, I don't have to stress anymore about our weekly menu.

To be honest, choosing a plan was the hardest one.  You can click on each of the selections to see a sample menu of each plan.   I needed to make sure I was choosing a plan that everyone in the family would enjoy.  With my picky eating family, that was hard. Eventually, I decided to go with the Clean Eating plan, and this one has been pretty awesome for us.  After you choose a meal plan, you get a weekly email on Wednesdays with your menu and shopping list.  Rather convenient, don't you think?

Some of our favorite meals have been:

Grilled Honey Mustard Pork Cutlets

Grilled Onion and Avocado Salad

Pot Roast and Smashed Potatoes

The best thing about the pot roast is that later in the week we had shredded beef burritos with the left overs.  Yum!

There have been a few meals I knew my family wouldn't eat.  Which is okay, because to me, eMeals, is a great service that provides you with ideas.  If you don't like the options, then don't make it.  Choose a meal from a previous week or an old favorite. No biggie.

What's even cooler is that I downloaded the app on my phone, which updates each Wednesday as well.  It's easier to do my grocery shopping through the convenience of having my shopping plan with me.

How do you plan your meals?  Do you use a meal planner?
