DoDeoBetter with Walgreens

This post was created in partnership with Mirum Shopper and FitFluential but all the opinions expressed here are 100% my own.

Do you ever have those days that just fly right by and before you know it, you're putting your littles to bed and wondering where did the day go?   That would definitely give you a very clear picture about how my days have been since school started.  Work, soccer, dance, marathon training, homework.... LIFE!   It's crazy.  I know I definitely bring it on myself.

Some mornings, I rush around so fast, I forget my deodorant!  GAH!   That shower fresh feeling doesn't exactly last very long in a stuffy classroom.  That's for sure.  I always have a spare deodorant (or two) in my desk drawer.  I would hate to be that smelly teacher!

But with that said, deodorant is definitely a huge part of my morning routine.  But there are times that I'm rushing so fast, I get white stuff all over my black shirt.  And then I don't notice until lunch time, when it's too late, and I've already taught 60 kids, who are probably making fun of Mrs. Boudreau.  So I did a little digging on Walgreens.com/DoDeoBetter and found that Dove dry spray option!  I've got to tell you, it's SO much better.  Just spray and go.  Simple.   And I love simple!

If you're curious to see what deodorant is best for you, head over to Walgreens to see which is right for you.   There are actually 4 categories of deodorants.  Yes, there seriously are.  I never knew that!   Dry Sprays that go on instantly dry.  Care care's for your skin, with moisturizers and such.  Motion Activated which will protect you for 48 hours with MotionSense® technology. Then Clinical Protection for those who require clinical strength wetness protection.

For this week only (9/25 - 10/1), if you buy 2, you get 1,000 points AND buy 1, get 50% off.  Of course, you'll need to have your Walgreens Balance Rewards Card handy to get those points and receive the promotional pricing!  PS, I lost my card, but the key pad gives me the option to type in my phone number so I can still rack up those points and save money!

Tell me, what do you prefer?  Care?  Dry Spray?  Clinical? MotionSense®  or do you like to have a variety? I love a variety for all possible scenarios!  And I like to toss some wipes in there too.

Three Things Thursday

Happy Fall everyone!  I do love fall.  The beautiful change of the leaves, the crisp air, the pumpkin-flavored everything and apple-flavored everything.  It's a great time of year!

This afternoon Tucker had a home game and they won!   I love to see the progress of a team as they learn how to pull together to play as a team.

And I'm super impressed with my own kiddo.  He's really pushing himself this year and becoming much more aggressive on the field.   He's definitely working hard and it shows.

The new Spandits prints are here!   I'm in love with the Calavera and Flash prints.  Actually, I ordered them a few weeks ago when we had the preview of prints to come.... and hopefully my order will be here soon!  I cannot wait to show off my newest Spandits!

Remember, if you order Spandits, use SPANDITSLOVE for 10% off and tell the ladies Jen B sent you!!!!

It's taper time.  I'm driving myself absolutely NUTS!  and I'm pretty sure I'm driving everyone else around me nuts as well.   I'm trying to stay calm and relaxed, but I'm failing miserably.

My plan called for two shorter runs this week, which is never enough to ease the mind, but SO needed to give the body time to recover.  I also went to yoga Monday night and I'll be going to a yoga class tomorrow as well.   I need to recenter myself and treat my body to a stretch.

We will see how this training cycle pans out this Sunday at the Clarence DeMar marathon!  I'm excited and freaking out.... all at the same time.  My motto going into it is definitely this....

Nothing complicated at all.  Just go out there and make it happen.  I'll be wearing my Make It Happen   Momentum wrap as well.  Of course.

fall in love with prAna

This post was created in partnership with prAna and FitApproach but all the opinions expressed here are 100% my own.

I'm the typical teacher.  I love my summers and want them to go on forever!  I get terribly sad when each summer comes to an end and we transition back to school and the crazy school schedules that await us.

BUT, once the gorgeous fall weather settles in, and the air feels more crisp and fall-like, the leaves begin to change and I cannot get enough of pumpkins and apples.

Then add in soccer games every Saturday morning for my girl, soccer games Tuesday and Thursday nights for my boy, Friday night football games, and the football playing on the TV all day long on Sundays, I'm seriously a happy momma.

I also get super excited and happy to slip back into my all-time favorite Kara Jeans made by prAna.  I may have a slight obsession with them.   I actually own 7 pairs, one just happened to be in the washing machine at the time.

When I reach into my closet and pull out a prAna item, I know my day is going to be comfortable and stylish AND made with the highest care.   prAna takes great care in their product and provides their consumers with organic, sustainable and Fair Trade products, so you can stay at peace with your clothing decisions and look great!

the many ways I wear my Kara Jeans to school... for now, until I pull out the boots!

prAna is great for any activity you can think of - work, errands, soccer games, hiking, yoga, running, resting, nights out, days at the beach.

This Lucia Sweater Jacket is amazing.   The color and cut of it will make this a staple in my wardrobe.   It's the greatest transition piece to put on as the nights get cooler and something to take with you to work as a layering option.

Check out the newest fall line.  I'm sure you'll fall in love with prAna!  And while you're there, use PFS16RWTG to save 15% off your order!

Why I Hired A Coach

All summer long I have been training for two marathon this fall.  I seriously love fall marathons.  For me, the time commitment for a fall marathon is so much more manageable.  Most of my long runs are done during the summer, when I have a ton more time to dedicate to a plan.    I've tried numerous plans over the past few years (Hanson and Higdon) and then copying Ward's training plans.    While I do coach other runners... I just need someone to coach ME and tell ME what to do.  Otherwise, I seem to drive myself crazy second guessing myself.

I thought my coach was crazy when she gave me the workout to run Winthrop Street 5 times.
But I did it! And felt great accomplishing that task!

This fall I want to go for that PR, perhaps even a BQ?   Since I am married to a (in my opinion) a pretty awesome runner who happens to BQ just about every time he runs a marathon, I initially wanted him to train me... or pace me.  But he said no.  Which I 100% understand.  It would probably take all of one week before we exchanged heated words.  He told me to hire a coach, so I did!

Ward and I usually do not run together.....  it's only once in a while.

I reached out to a few coaches, all of whom are fabulous runners.  But then decided to go with my friend Amy Lawson at KVC.   I've always been in awe of her enthusiasm and sense of humor.  Not to mention, she's a pretty fantastic runner and Ironman!  If you live in my area,  you should definitely look her up.

I've loved having a coach this marathon cycle!  She sends me a new plan every Tuesday morning and we communicate weekly about paces/strength/goals.  I don't know why I haven't hired a coach before!

while I love my husband, I love running with Amy (and Gretchen) so much more!

Anyway, this past week, I had some pain and swelling on the inside of my ankle.  Immediately I went to Amy about it.  She told me to rest.   Having someone else tell me to rest makes it a lot easier to do it especially when you're so worried about not getting in all of the runs.

After a few days of rest, I am feeling far better and much more ready to take on the last two weeks of training before DeMar!

I will definitely continue with Amy after I complete DeMar and NYCM!
